Mark 1:9-10, "At that time Jesus came from Nazereth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. As Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove."
Acts 2:38, "Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
Last night, I was baptized by my Pastor at Calvary Church in Naperville. Several of my Christian friends from church were there to see it and, of course, Carl was there. It was really neat. My church has a large baptismal pool that I stood in with my Pastor while I gave my testimony of how I came to Christ and a public declaration to die to myself and live for Christ. I should have a video of it in the next couple of weeks. We believe in submersion baptism, like Jesus did in the Jordan river.
I don't know what took me so long to finally get baptized, really, but lately The Lord has been speaking to my heart to have it done. I have been praying that He would increase my spiritual gifts so that I may be a more powerful prayer warrior, and He has led me to greater obedience. It's pretty cool. I have been wanting a real movement of the Holy Spirit in my life and my church and The Bible says that water baptism leads to the receiving of the Holy Spirit.

It was a really awesome experience and I'm so glad I did it. It just takes my faith to a whole new level. I really want The Lord to pour out His blessings on me and this family soooo much. I pray for this family every single day. You guys, your kids...all of us.
