Over the last 2 years, Carl and I have become very close with the pastor at our church, Steve. He has been a wonderful spiritual mentor to Carl especially and we have become more and more involved in our little satellite church in Sugar Grove. Unfortunately, the senior pastor and the Deacons have decided to reassign our Pastor to another position at the main campus. Yesterday was Steve's last day.
We are very sad to see Steve go, Carl especially. We wrote Steve a beautiful letter of goodbye and went to his going away reception yesterday. I was in tears and poor Carl is beside himself. We have vowed, however, to remain dedicated to our campus and to embrace the new leadership with open arms and hearts. It's hard not to be sad, though. Never before have we had such a close and loving relationship with a pastor. He is a very approachable, heart-on-his-sleeve type of person who is extremely unpretentious and genuine. His personality and way with people appealed to Carl on a deep level. I hope and pray that the new Pastor who comes in will be able to fill the void that Steve is leaving. We have promised Steve that we will embrace the new Pastor without comparing him, but it will be hard, I confess.

I am sorry to hear that, I know change is hard for you, I know it is for me.
Just go back to your tat for tots and work with the new paster, if you get to feeling the need to see and hear Steve visit once in a while. LVU
I know that you have a BIG spiritual investment in your church. I"m sorr=y that your pastor is leaingl Sounds like you have a great relationship. i suspect that wilalcontinue even if you don't see him as often as you are used too. And remember, you can invite Pastors to dinner. They like that.
Soso sorry for my horrible typing skills
