Personal Trainer

Last week, I "hired" Carl as my personal trainer to help motivate me and teach me how to use the Bowflex to tone my muscles. This was a huge mistake. The man is trying to KILL me! He makes me ride the bike for 20 minutes, which leads to sweating!! I HATE sweating! Then, Merciless One makes me lift weights! MORE than 5 pounds, which I've never done in my life! The dogs hang on me the entire time. I actually bumped Cookie Boy in the face with the bike pedal once before he learned to stay away from the bike. (His head is just the right [or is it wrong?] height). Does Carl let me stop? NO! He's ruthless! He actually made me lay on my stomach on the Bowflex bench and lift 20 pounds with the back of my legs on that scary, torture device. It truly is an evil contraption. When I whined, he said, "YOU wanted help with your joint pain, now KEEP LIFTING." Obviously, a monster has been created. I tried faking tears and he tried to trick me with, "Well, honey, if you really want to stop, then stop. This was your idea, do what you want" HAH! Fat chance, pal! No way I'm gonna let you make me look like the quiter here.

The whole time I'm down in the workout room, the dogs are milling about either trying to hang on me and whining or chasing each other and barking. When I wasn't looking yesterday, Cookie Boy licked Carl's face while he was bench-pressing and almost made Carl drop his weights. Poor Carl has not had a peaceful workout since I started. The good news for me is that I lost 4 pounds right away. Which just goes to show, once again, that if I get off my butt and stop eating so much, yes I do weigh less. *sigh* I can't even claim to be one of those weight-loss resistant people. My weight truly is a direct result of laziness.

That DAmn Carl. You GO girl. I used to beleive that other people could eat what they wanted and still stay thin. Sometimes I wish I still "knew" that. I"m trying to run. It's slow going but i read somewhere that there is not much your body can't do. It's more a matter of what you're willing to do. Sometimes I wish I didn't read so much.
