Jon and Tracy

They don't have internet at home, but I've talked to Jon on the phone and by email. Spoke to him for about a half hour last night. They are doing good. Tracy is in her 3rd trimester and feeling pretty well. They are remodeling the lower level of their home, a project, Jon reports, that never ends. I know how that feels! Cheryl and Larry have come up to help several times and his brothers have, too.

Tracy is due in late July/early August and they are saving up their scant vacation days, so will not be traveling this summer. Traveling that late in a pregnancy probably is not too comfortable anyways. Jon has been working on his pickup truck, putting a new engine and transmission in it, a project he seems to really enjoy with his good friend, Fred. Jon was recently transferred to a new position at work, one he is much happier in. They both have looonnng commutes to and from work and often carpool with each other. Gas prices are not quite as bad up there as in Chicago (I paid $4.19 yesterday!), but still almost $4 and pretty brutal when you have an hour commute each way.

Of course, they are very eagerly looking forward to the birth of their first child, of whom they have given no offical word on gender. Grammy looked at the ultrasound Tracy sent her and has declared it to be a boy, but let's all act surprised anyways, ok? *wink*
