Today, I wore a kind of dressy, embroidered cotton, knee-length pair of shorts to work and my employee, Felix, (in his very passable, but not perfect English) says to me, "I like your shorts. They look like the ones from the olden days."
Huh? I'm taking that as a compliment. I asked him, you mean like Kulats? And he asked what Kulats are. He tried to describe to me what he was talking about and the best I can come up with from what he describes are Gouchos. Since he is from Mexico, that makes the most sense. Short Gouchos. Only mine don't wrap around the waist and tie, he says. Then, I was thinking, "hmmm....comfy, cotton shorts that wrap around your waist and tie? Where do I get these lovely sounding things?"
