Labor Day Weekend

Had a pretty busy weekend. Went to my very first "keydown" with Carl at Busse Woods Forest Preserve. It was actually a nice time, although our sales were waaaay off this year and there were not nearly as many "keyers" as usual. However, Cookie had a nice time playing with all the kids who would approach him and want to hang out under our tent out of the sun. Our truck won every event we entered it in and we were able to get a neighbor to watch Cookie so we could go to the awards banquet. Carl has been a member of that club for years, but has not been to an event in 3 or 4 years. There were people there that actually refused to believe he was "151" (his CB handle.) Last time they saw him he had long hair and weighed almost 400 pounds!! Of course, the rumors started that he'd had gastric bypass or some crap, but his buddy, Ralph, set them straight by telling them, "Don't be stupid. He didn't have surgery...he's IN LOVE!"

Anyway, Carl was excited and we won a bunch of trophies and belts. I actually overheard people at the keydown talking and saying, "some guy over there by the Xforce tent is claiming to be "151" but ain't no way that's Carl!"

A keydown is a CB competition to see who has the strongest signal i.e. the best equipment and setup. we make the equipment, so it is a bid marketing thing for our company
