Pray for My Mom

As some of you probably know, my Mom's arthritis in her knees has gotten to the point where there is nothing more the doctors can do for her than replace them. The joints have deteriorated to the point where she is having difficulty walking at all and is in constant pain.

She is scheduled for complete knee replacement surgery on Sept. 4 for one knee and, if that goes well, they will do the other surgery on Sept. 8th. Needless to say, knee replacement surgeries are intense and she will have a long recovery. I will be out of town from Sept. 6th through the 14th, so it will be just her and Dad during that time, but I'm guessing she'll be in the hospital most of that time, if not all. The surgeries are taking place at Rush-Copley hospital in Aurora. It has yet to be determined whether she will go to into Rehabilitation after that or go home with Home Health Care.

Please, PRAY for: wisdom and guidance for the doctors doing the surgery; that she will be surrounded by loving, competent nurses and doctors; she will have peace and confidence in her heart about her recovery; she will see restoration of her health and a complete, rapid, recovery.

It will be a tough road but, if everything goes as planned, she will be better than she was before. Bionic Grammy!

Thanks Caryl. It will be a long road...Gary had a very hard time and the rehab has been intense and all they did to him was reattach a tendon.
I'll say my prayers for sure. It will be great to have the old Grammy back. Clay sure loves playing golf with her. Funny all the boys in the seem to gravitate to poppy except Ben and Clay. They sure LOVE their Grammy. Oh they love Poppy too......
