Benefit for Joey G

Last night, a group called Mateo's Kids held a benefit for 4 severely ill children, one of whom is Joey Grant. It was a bowling outing at the old Gala North Lanes in Carol Stream. It was a really nice time. Uncle Joe and Aunt Joanne sponsored a lane and so did Joan. It was good to see Joey and Christina come out, too, as well as Joanne's mom, Rosa. Mom and Dad were there and Dad ended up bowling for several people who got too tired or distracted to bowl. Thank goodness he was there, because I really needed his coaching. I ended up bowling a 140 and a 129. Not too shabby for not having bowled in 2 years! Carl still beat me, though, with a 141 and a 160. Damn Carl!

As usual, Dad and Uncle Joe were hilarious with their antics and Joey V. was right there with them. Christina brought her significant other, Jeff, who seemed like a really nice guy. Mom and Dad won a $100 gift card to Shaw's Crab house in a raffle. Some guy immediately offered them $50 cash for it, but, of course, Dad wanted to just give it away and Mom was like, "Hey, ever think maybe I actually want to GO to dinner and enjoy my winnings?" She does love seafood, after all.

Susie was volunteering to help run the event, so Carl and I bowled on Joan's team with Lexi and Angela. Donna and Bill Haack were there, too. We were on the lane next to Uncle Joe's. Angela did pretty well just standing at the line and throwing the ball down the lane. A real trooper.

I see the Dad and Uncle very not successful in their attempt to stand on theilr toes and streach to be taller then Joey v.
Still not as funny ils the syncronized boweling scene on lanes 8&9.

Gee, I wish I had onown about that. I would have donated some money. Sounds like a good time was had by all. And I'm glad that kids will benefit.
